kid friendly holiday craft project: wrapped cookie cutter ornament

greetings friend! i hope your week has gone by as quickly as mine. whooftah! planning a cookie exchange, trunk show and women’s ministry events has dropped a lot on my lap this week but here we are, almost over.

i wanted to share a couple of crafts this week that are simple and easy to do with your kids (if you have them) or on your own and they make great ornaments or package tags!

today’s is about as simple as you can get. first, gather:

glue (i used hot glue but burned my fingers as per usual…)
scissors
yarn (or any other kind of decorative string you might have or want)
cookie cutters to wrap

yep, that’s it!

I don’t have step by step photos for you but this one is so easy you should be able to figure it out on your own pretty easily. if you are a newbie crafter, feel free to email me, i’d love to help walk you through it!

so first, if you’re using hot glue you should have already plugged your gun in, if not, do so now and come back and you can read through the directions!

after your gun is plugged in, put a line of glue at a good starting point. i did the inside tip of the snowflake because that way i could hide the tail end right off the bat.

begin wrapping your yard (i did mine tightly to the next corner), glue and repeat.

i glued on every corner and maybe put a small line over the sides but you really don’t have to if you wrap tightly enough and glue the beginning and end tightly enough.

and that’s literally it.

if you wanted you could use any different string, i could see this being cute with a metallic string, jute or raffia!

did you make a few? did you have your kids? i’d love to see how yours came out!
